This site is part of a cooperative learning project between pairs of schools in different countries (in our case, Neveh Channah in Israel and Yavneh School in Mexico),sponsored by the State of Israel Ministry of Education Culture and Sports Pedagogic Secretariat. Each school studies its own literature and prepares a website to teach the other country about the literature they studied .They also introduce their partners to the heritage and culture of the country which gave rise to these works. The goal of our website is to present some modern Israeli poetry with analysis in addition to information about the poets,the Land of Israel where they lived and created and a discussion about their contribution to modern Israeli literature. We hope you enjoy learning about the Israeli poems that we included in this site, two by Yehuda Amichai – "My Father's Death" - "Mot Avi," and "My Mother Baked the Whole World for Me "-Imi Afta Li Et Kol Haolam and "With My Grandfather" -"Im Savi", by Zelda - as much as we enjoyed creating the site for you!Rina & Talia
