Who Am I?

Hey, my name is Rina Siegelman. I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia; I moved to Israel about 3 months ago without my family. (Yes I am a bit lonely and it is very hard without my family and friends. But I’ve made lots of new friends already.) I’m in 10th grade at Neveh Channah and I’m loving it.

My Family, Friends and Hobbies

First of all, my family will be making Aliyah next summer. My father and mother are married. My mom has 3 kids; my dad has 6. My dad was married before my mom and had 3 kids. So I have 2 siblings and 3 half-siblings. However, I am close with all of my siblings. I’m the oldest of my mom’s children. My 2 older half –brothers are in Israel with me. The oldest (25) is in the army, and the second (21) will be entering the army soon. My older half-sister (19) is in college in Atlanta. My younger sister (12) and my younger brother (8) are both learning in elementary school in Atlanta. My dad is one of the wrestling coaches (there are 2) for the high-school to which I went last year. His work is tree cutting and massage therapy. (He’s got many other marketable skills as well, but I won’t get into them.) My mom is a retired attorney and now she sells Tupperware. (I REALLY MISS MY FAMLIY!)

I miss all of my friends back in Atlanta, and I hope to visit them soon! I’ve made many new friends here in Neveh Channa though. [and I miss my dog :’( ]

I love soccer. Its my favorite sport. I love swimming, reading (I prefer outside of school), sports, hanging with friends and listening (and singing) to music.

Neveh Channah - My School

I can’t really tell ya’ll much about Neveh Channah because this is my first year here and I don’t really know a lot about it yet. But for now, I can say that it’s a lot of fun here, and the girls are awesome! I have no regrets about deciding to come here to learn.

“Life is not the most important thing in life; but those values for which a man is willing to risk or even give up his life.”

My Plans for the Future

I haven’t decided exactly what I want to do when I finish school. I’ll probably do national service; but, after that, I don’t know what I’ll do. I know I want to do something that I will enjoy though. I don’t want to have a “normal job” (sitting inside all day in an office) because I know I’ll hate that.

What Do I Want Our Partners to Know?

I’ve had a bit of experience with building web pages. We learned a little about it last year in school, but I don’t remember anything. I’ll have to have my memory refreshed.
